Marian Stein-Steinfeld

After studying art history, cultural anthropology and Jewish studies, Marian Stein-Steinfeld worked at the Frankfurter Kunstkabinett Hanna Bekker vom Rath since 1979. Between 1984 and 1989 she was an executive partner.

In 1989 she left the gallery to work as freelance research assistant, curator and author for the Museum Wiesbaden and the Stadtmuseum Hofheim am Taunus, among others. Occasional co-operation with the Frankfurter Kunstkabinett on thematic projects continued to take place.

In 2018 she published the biography Hanna Bekker vom Rath – Handelnde für Kunst und Künstler.

As the youngest granddaughter to grow up in the Blue House, she describes – as an introduction into the actual biography – from her “personal perspective” the house, the lady of the house, her encounters with artists and small everyday occurrences she remembers from her childhood on.
